No ACA Replacement Yet, But Congress Has A Master Plan to Take Away Patients' Right

This is not exactly progress. The "Protecting Access to Care Act" (H.R. 1215) doesn't actually help anyone get safe, affordable health care, but it does a bunch of other stuff nobody asked for -- especially health care consumers and anyone who hates brazen federal power grabs.

H.R. 1215 includes a federal cap on non-economic damages, imposes a federal statute of limitations for most claims, and grants blanket immunity to health care providers who prescribe a drug or device that was at any point approved by the FDA – even if that drug or device has since been proven to be dangerous. The bill would also apply to a broad range of cases, including those involving injuries caused by medical negligence, defective medical devices, dangerous pharmaceuticals, and nursing home neglect and abuse.
