Take Action to Prescribe Justice

Generic drugs make up 80% of all prescriptions filled in the United States. But generic drug manufacturers cannot independently update their labels to warn of new side-effects and cannot be held accountable if their drugs injure or kill Americans.

Both brand name and generic manufacturers should be accountable for the safety of their products.  If no one is accountable, no one is safe.

This can be changed!  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has already begun the process to restore accountability.  Join me thousands of other Americans in urging the FDA to act quickly.  Sign this petition to the FDA.

A group of 15 patient and consumer advocates have also sent a letter to Margaret Hamburg, M.D., Commissioner of the FDA, applauding the FDA's announcement to revise its regulations to allow generic drug manufacturers to independently update their drug safety labels and to restore Americans' right to quality drug safety information.  You can read the letter online here.

Take action today!  Safety is an issue that cannot wait!
